Lisa Loving It
Thank you for your prayers during these interesting days. Our middle daughter Lisa (19) is now in Nicaraugua and will be there until mid-October. She is very happy to be there and is excited about the ministry opportunities for her and her team. She has email access and so you can write to encourage her. Just ask us for her email address.

More on Mike
Permission for "Mike" to come and study in Canada is temporarily in limbo, awaiting more information that I and others will supply. We will need as little as $4,000 for this project, or as much as $10,000 more than what has been received so far. The final amount will depend largely on scholarships Mike will apply for after he arrives. Every gift, large or small, is useful and will be very much appreciated. Two other ABWE missionaries are also raising funds for this from among their respective donors. Last night I received a phone call from an old friend who wanted to know where to send a cheque for project Mike. Praise God! You may have questions before you give to something like this, and I am only too happy to answer them.

Angie's Accident
Angie (16) is still raising funds for her July missions trip to New Zealand. Last Saturday we had a fundraiser yard sale for, and hope to have another one tomorrow. Later on, she will have a BBQ in front of, and with the support of, a local grocery store to raise more money. She still has a little over $2,000 to raise, but she's working hard at it.

Now for a strange twist--last night Angie was struck down by a car as she was crossing at an intersection. She suffered only a sore, bruised elbow, although there is the possibility of a hairline fracture. Today's x-ray was inconclusive--another one will be done at a later date. Anyway, she's fine and in good spirits. Now doesn't that deserve a nice vacation to New Zealand? Or if not a vacation, we can put her to work there! ;-)

If you are interested in supporting her missions trip, you can send your donation to our home, or contact Angie through us for more information on giving directly to her mission organization.

They Call Me a Gimp!
I can't help but think that some of the strange happenings in our lives lately have a definite spiritual dimension--including the fact that our efforts for Mike are nearing their fruition. My broken leg is doing well it seems, and only slightly hampers my internet ministry. Nowadays, when Angie introduces me to a new friend, she flatly states, "This is my Dad. He's a gimp," and then she laughs! (I tell ya, I don't get no respect. No respect I tell ya.) I am running a makeshift office in our absent daughter Lisa's bedroom while I try to keep my leg elevated and work at the same time. Sometimes it must look a bit comical.

...And Lest We Forget
Karen is holding the fort and will be for some time. This morning she dropped Aaron off at school, after which she took Angie to the doctor's and the x-ray clinic. Later she sat in the passenger seat while Amy practised driving. And when she's at home, she has to wait on her crippled husband, as well as the usual housework and cooking. It's no wonder she's feeling a little bedraggled the last couple of days. But she's the glue that's holding the home together. I thank God for her.

Thank you for reading this and praying, and giving. You are special to God's work in this ministry he has given you. We appreciate it.

Yours,
George for all
