May 22: This brief update comes to you from Birmingham where we have been since May 10th. We return to Canada on May 24th, in time for George's first visit with an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist. The CT scan results will likely be discussed at that time, but it is quite possible that a biopsy will be scheduled to examine a piece of the growth in George's neck at the jawline.

The due date of May 28th for the birth of our first grandchild is also approaching. We know it's a girl, and as far as we know her Mom is keeping healthy. Pray for the delivery of the little princess (after all, she is the daughter of a King!).

This 15-day visit to Birmingham has been helpful. We've gotten to know our future colleagues a little better and feel blessed to be able to work together with them. We've also gotten to know the city better and are in a better position to choose a place to live and minister. More details will follow after we return to Canada.

Yours,
George and Karen

May 31: Thank you for praying about my doctor's appointment. After physically examining the growth in my neck, the doctor believes that it is nothing to be alarmed about. He is fairly certain that it is only a lipoma. Fatty tissue growing where it shouldn't be, but benign.

As a safety precaution, the doctor ordered a needle biopsy for June 8th to put bits of the lump under the microscope. We will let you know the result of that test, but expect a good outcome.

We still await the birth of Adam's first child, now a couple of days overdue. Thank you for continuing to pray for a safe delivery.

Please pray for Aaron and Angelie who are both preparing to go to college/university for the first time in the fall. Aaron is going to Sheridan in Oakville and Angelie to McMaster in Hamilton.

Alisa is returning to university as well, probably McMaster.

Amy's July 14th wedding plans are coming together. Just 6 weeks away!

We will write soon more about our trip and plans for the future.

Thank you for praying!

George for all
